God in School

I am at a public school as we all are. This week I am starting reading groups. One of the books I am doing is The Courage of Sarah Noble. As I read it I found that one of the chapters Sarah pulls out her Bible and tries to decide what "story" to read. Should it be about Sarah and Isaac, etc. She then finds herself reading to a group of Indian children. I got a real kick that the book I chose mentioned the Bible. I had been praying and praying to God for help in this placement. And here He put a book for Him right in my hands and I didn't even realize it until I started reading it! Wild, huh?
BTW, it is a good book level 3.9.
AND... One of the girls has been keeping me informed about her baptism and such. I think it is so cool that she feels she can share that with me. Always little things to remind us that God is always with us.

Oh my! When will it end!!

I have been away. I know my classmates and professor wonder where I am! 4th grade is overwhelming! I don't know how these 4th grade teachers do it. I do nothing but prepare lesson plans, grade tests, make tests, etc. Everything I do is for the 4th grade class. Tomorrow I start reading groups!! I hope I do well with this. Maggie Charlton has been great and Dr. Ink has been so supportive. I may be coming to a point that I may be able to do something for this class. Just when I think I am going to see some extra time to work on tech class stuff, there is more to do for 4th grade. May God bless my family! They are the best.

I have been struggling with synonyms, antonyms, and homonyms. I thought they would never get it. Today they took a test and the lowest grade was a 76 (only 1 student)! Finally, I can see the fruits of my labors!! More 100's than anything else. We'll see how tomorrow goes. May God bless all of you! Diane

Synonym, Antonym, and Homphone Bulletin Board

I finally got a chance to put my bulletin board idea here! Here's a picture and the idea is taken from the "Nymsville" bulletin board off the internet. Just google Nymsville bulleting board. I call mine "The Nyms" like the PC game "The Sims". Since students are so game oriented I thought it would be more appropriate.
